Kate Rampling is an art photographer from Brisbane, Australia who is currently based in Auckland, New Zealand. She uses predominantly medium format film to convey expansive themes such as the dichotomies of life; beauty, fear, power, weakness, spirituality versus everyday life. Her work is dark, intuitive and attempts to connect to something primal and pure in nature.
She believes that the representation of women by women in photography is crucial, with a focus on the inner world and experience of being female.
Kate studied Photography at the Queensland College of Art and is represented by Black Asterisk, Ponsonby.
